Whoami
My name is Krishna Chomal, but I am better known on the internet by the name of VulnX. I am a third-year Computer Engineering student who loves everything related to computers. I've been learning programming and cyber security for about 7-8 years.
More specifically, I am passionate about Cyber Security. I thoroughly enjoy Binary Exploitation, Exploit Development, and Reverse Engineering.
I also actively participate in CTFs with my team ResetSec. My favorite categories are pwn and Reverse Engineering.
Current I am learning about Linux Kernel security and doing N-day vulnerability research.
In future I plan to explore v8, android, and embedded/firmware exploitation as well.
My Journey
General Introduction to Programming
2016 - 2017
3D Modelling with Blender & Video Editing
2017 - 2018
Basics of Cyber Security
2017 - 2019
During this time I started with general introduction to cybersecurity and learnt fundament concepts like networking, social engineering, common web attacks, etc.
Switched to full-time Linux
2017 - present
Low level development & Advanced security topics
2019 - 2021
During this time I started developing genuine interest towards cyber security. I learnt the basics of computer architecture, assembly language, shellcoding and got introduced to memory corruption exploits like buffer overflows.
Web Development
2021 - 2023
During this time I was preparing for JEE, hence couldn't dedicate much time to hacking. Because I had a decent understanding of web security, I start with web development. I learnt front-end with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Electron and backend with PHP, NodeJS, and MySQL.
CTFs & Expanding my knowledge about binary exploitation
2023 - present
During this time I found an excellent team with which I could participate in various international CTF events. This is when I got exposed to genuine challenges in cyber security. Previously I had very rudimentary understanding of low level topics but from here I started to really delve into the intricacies of memory corruption attacks.
